DESCRIPTION: The green to greeny-yellow globular galls found on the host plant are caused by the feeding of the adult female which has developed from an overwintering fertilized egg. Mature galls are smooth and rounded and to get to exact species winged adults must be examined. DISTRIBUTION: Widespread but difficult to determine due to a lack of exact records. Best seen during the summer months. HABITAT: On the leaves of Black and Lombardy Poplar. |
